SUMMARY

Please read this Privacy Policy to learn more about how we treat personally identifiable information. We provide this Privacy Policy because you have a right to know what information we collect, how it is protected and used, and the circumstances under which it may be disclosed. If you have comments, suggestions, questions, or concerns about our Privacy Policy, please contact us via email at privacy@fasterlessons.com, or in writing at: Faster Lessons, LLC, 18966 Bonanza Way, Gaithersburg, MD 20879.

What This Policy Covers

This policy covers Faster Lessons’ treatment of personally identifiable information that we obtain when you visit our website, become a registered user of Faster Lessons’ services, add a student to your user profile or become a subscriber to Faster Lessons’ services. We regard personally identifiable information as information that someone can use to identify or contact you in person, such as real name, telephone number, birth date, email address, or physical mailing address. Information that we use internally to identify you as a registered user in our system, such as your selected username, is not considered personally identifiable information.

What This Policy Does Not Cover

This policy does not cover the privacy practices of your lesson provider or other third parties that we do not own or control, such as content or service providers, advertisers and our credit card processor and other suppliers. In addition, we may provide links to other services and on occasion to other sites that may interest you. All of these sites operate independently of Faster Lessons and they have their own privacy or security practices. We encourage you to review their policies before submitting any personal information to them.

HOW INFORMATION IS COLLECTED

1. Information You Provide.

Required Registration Information

During the registration process, we collect your username, email address, password, phone number(s), physical mailing address, and any information required by your lesson provider.

Required Student Information

Each student that is registered for lessons through a user account must have a student profile. Each student that is at least 18 years old if a U.S. resident, or over the age of majority in the student’s province or territory of residence if a Canadian resident, can create their own student profile on the relevant user account. For minors, the student profile must be created by the student’s parent or guardian. For student profiles, we collect the student’s name, date of birth, physical mailing address, emergency contact information and, if a minor, the name and contact details of the student’s parent or guardian. You have the option to add any relevant medical information relating to the student that you would like your lesson provider to be aware of. We will share student information with your selected lesson provider.

Access To Your Personal Information

In general, we make it easy for you to view the personally identifiable information we have collected from you in your user profile, where you can add or edit it as you see fit. You also can contact us (as explained in the first paragraph of this Privacy Policy) if you have any further questions about the collection, storage or use of your personal information.

2. Information We Do Not Collect.

Children

As explained further in our Terms of Service, currently available here, you must be at least 18 if a U.S. resident, or over the age of majority in your province or territory or residence if a Canadian resident, to register as a user and/or submit credit card or other payment information through our website. In addition, you must be 13 years of age or older to use our website in any way. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information about children. If you believe that we have personal information from or about anyone under 13 years of age, please notify us by email at privacy@fasterlessons.com or write to us at the address noted above.

Social Security Number/Social Insurance Number

We do not ask or require your Social Security Number/Social Insurance Number to use any of our services or to access any part of our site. No one representing Faster Lessons will ever ask for your Social Security Number/Social Insurance Number. If at any time you receive an e-mail requesting such information from someone purporting to represent Faster Lessons, please notify us immediately.

Similar to many websites, we gather certain anonymous, non-personal information automatically and store it in web server log files. This information includes internet protocol addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), site entry/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information to improve our site, analyze trends, administer the site, track users' movements around the site, and gather aggregate information about our user base as a whole. Aggregate information is data we collect about a group or category of services or users from which individual user identities have been removed, and therefore does not include your personally identifiable information.

You can set your web browser software to disable cookies. To do so, please refer to the help section of your specific browser for more information on how to manage or disable cookies. If you disable cookies, you may still view our site, but some areas of our site will not work properly.

Some of our content or service providers, advertisers and other third parties with links on our site may also use cookies on our site. We have no access to or control over these cookies, and, as noted above, this privacy policy does not govern the use of cookies by those content or service providers, advertisers or other third parties.

Promotional Announcements. In order to improve the experience for our users, we may offer you the opportunity to sign up for optional email communications, such as updates from Faster Lessons, periodic (typically monthly) newsletters, or invitations to special events. These communications are enhancements to our service and are entirely optional. We will ask for your consent before sending you promotional communications, and will make it easy for you to unsubscribe from these communications, either through the emails or though your user profile.

“Invite” Tool. We may offer an “invite” option to allow you to tell a friend about Faster Lessons. If you choose to use our "invite" service to tell a friend about Faster Lessons, we will ask you for your friend's name and email address.
